Troop 126 - 2024 Highlights and Achievements

2024 was an incredible year for Troop 126, filled with adventure, skill-building, and community service. Our scouts participated in numerous campouts, fun outings, and impactful projects that strengthened both their scouting skills and troop bonds.

The troop kicked off the year with exciting community service projects, including Earth Day initiatives and Yosemite conservation work, where scouts contributed to preserving natural spaces. Several scouts also had the opportunity to participate in the GGAC National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), preparing them to take on greater responsibilities within the troop.

Scouts enjoyed many other fun activities throughout the year. From racing at K1 Speed to solving puzzles in escape rooms, we had many enjoyable events. We also had various campouts and outings, the Point Reyes backpacking trip challenged scouts with 33.4 miles of hiking, a 3,724-foot elevation gain, and plenty of wildlife sightings, creating memories that won’t be forgotten. The Camp Hermes campout combined skill-building and adventure, as scouts practiced essential knots and lashings and shared stories and laughter around the campfire.

Later in the year, the troop worked on the Radio Merit Badge, where scouts learned about different types of radios and even got to have a 10-minute conversation using them. More community service followed with various eagle projects for temples, schools and more!

In 2024, Troop 126 proudly celebrated three scouts achieving the prestigious Eagle Rank:

Recruitment events were also a highlight, with a fun geocaching hike and a bowling night that introduced new members to the troop. The scouts showed teamwork and enthusiasm as they worked together to solve geocaching challenges and enjoy some friendly competition on the lanes.

As we finish off the first month of the new year, Troop 126 looks forward to even more advancement, adventure, and camaraderie in 2025.
